Nepal Elephant Conservation

Source: Tiger Tops, Nepal

Rather than touching on a new conservation topic this week, I wanted to fill you all in on some of my upcoming conservation-related plans! If you’ve been following along with me for a while, you know that in 2019 I traveled to Thailand to work at Boon Lott’s Elephant Sanctuary and do research on elephant psychology and trauma.

Since then, I’ve been so eager to get back into the field and spend more time learning about elephants and helping them in every way I can. And finally, after over a year I’m so excited to be heading back to Asia to work at a sanctuary again.

Next week I’ll be headed to Nepal to help out at Stand Up for Elephants and work on a few projects related to their elephants and the welfare of elephants within the country! The captive elephant situation differs so much from country to country and I’m so glad I’ll be able to share some insight into the Nepal elephant situation with you all on here!

Be sure to follow along with me here and on my social media to get the most frequent updates while I’m gone.

Traveling During COVID

For those who are curious, Nepal is open for tourism but they have strict regulations for entry. The pandemic has not hit the country quite as hard as its hit other areas with a total of around 2000 deaths total since the outbreak began.

If you have any specific questions related to the travel regulations, visa process, or what I’ll be doing at the sanctuary, feel free to comment below or email me directly!
