Champa got in a fight with another captive elephant and was knocked over. When she fell, she sustained an injury to one of her front legs and developed pressure wounds from being unable to stand for a couple days.

We have been supporting Champa and her owners by supporting veterinary costs and ensuring the frequency of vet visits as well as medicines being provided are not limited by a lack of funds.

Since the incident, Champa has shown significant progress and we are happy to report she is eating well and going on longer walks once again. While she is still in the process of recovering, we are hopeful she will bounce back from this setback!
